Maui

Maui is a loving and affectionate boy who’s ready to find a home where he can feel safe and secure. He’s very friendly with everyone he’s meets and adores cuddles—he really thrives on human attention and loves being close. Maui will need time to get used to his surrounding, he can be a little unsure of the outside world and because of this, things like passing cars, wildlife, and especially other dogs can be overwhelming to him. He’s never lived with another dog and can be very intense when he sees them, so he’ll need to be the only dog in the home.

When it comes to toys, Maui enjoys playing but has shown some mild guarding behaviour, sometimes standing over them and giving a bit of a stare, so this is something to keep an eye on while continuing to build trust. He’s also got a fun side—apparently he has a thing for trampolines, which just adds to his quirky charm!

Maui isn’t housetrained yet and will need help learning the ropes. He can be quite excitable and may mouth or jump up, especially when he’s feeling frustrated or overstimulated, so he’ll benefit from consistent boundaries and calm handling. He also struggles with being left alone and gets very anxious, so he’ll need someone around most of the time to help him settle in and feel comfortable.

Maui’s a lovely lad with lots of potential in the right home—one that can give him patience, understanding, and all the affection he craves.
